The agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and HyperTools for use of the apps at https://app.hypertools.dev (the “Service”). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use HyperTools.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and is part of how we operate the Service.

The service

HyperTools is a small studio of apps that share one account: Compass (day planning, tasks, calendar, focus, habits), Canvas (collaborative boards and vision boards), Shift Manager (rosters, hours, pay, and optional Google Calendar push), and Kana (hiragana and katakana practice). Features may change, pause, or be retired as the studio evolves.

The Service is provided as-is for personal and small-team use. It is not a payroll, tax, or employment-law product. Figures such as hours and pay are estimates to help you plan — they are not payslips or legal records unless you independently treat them that way.

Accounts

You need an account to use most of the Service. You can sign up with email and a password, or with Google. You must provide accurate information and keep your login safe. You are responsible for activity under your account.

New accounts start as employees. The manager role is granted by a studio admin. If you join via an invite link, you are linked to that manager’s team.

You must be at least 16. If you use HyperTools on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break the law, or use the Service to harm others.
• Probe, scrape, or overload the Service, or try to access other people’s accounts or data.
• Upload malware, or content you do not have the right to use.
• Reverse engineer the Service except where the law allows.
• Share a Canvas link publicly in a way that surprises people whose work is on that board.

We may suspend or close an account that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or puts the Service or other users at risk.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you put into HyperTools (tasks, boards, shifts, notes, images, and so on). You grant us a limited licence to host, back up, display, and transmit that content solely to operate the Service for you and the people you share it with.

You are responsible for that content and for any sharing you enable. Canvas boards with link sharing on are reachable by anyone who has the URL (and password, if you set one) — including people without an account.

Managers and employees

Shift Manager is built for a manager and their crew. Managers may create shifts, set rates, see hours and pay, and invite people by email. Employees see their own week and can mark shifts off.

Compass stays private unless the employee opts a module in. Do not use HyperTools to collect information about someone who has not agreed to join your team.

Google integrations

Google sign-in and Google Calendar are optional. Calendar sync is one-way: HyperTools pushes events it creates (shifts, and Compass prep blocks if you enable that) onto your calendar. It does not pull your existing events back into HyperTools.

Google’s terms also apply to those features. You can disconnect Calendar at any time in Settings. Disconnecting stops future sync and deletes our stored tokens; events already on your calendar are not automatically removed.

Availability

We aim to keep HyperTools running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Features, including Calendar sync and notifications, depend on third parties (Google, your browser, Discord, Telegram) that we do not control.

Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you cannot waive under Australian Consumer Law. Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited (at our option) to resupplying the Service or paying the cost of doing so.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim (currently zero, unless we have billed you).

Ending the relationship

You can stop using HyperTools at any time. To delete your account, email support@hypertools.dev from the address on the account.

We may stop providing the Service or close accounts with reasonable notice where practicable, or immediately if we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken or we are required to by law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the courts of Australia will have jurisdiction, without limiting any non-waivable consumer rights you have in your home country.

Changes

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after a revision means you accept the new Terms. If you do not, stop using the Service and ask us to close your account.
